HOW TO REACH SUSTech:
Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport (SZX) is the primary international airport serving Shenzhen, but Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) may also be an option for participants from Europe and North America.
From Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, you can take either a taxi or the subway to reach SUSTech.
1.-Taxi: the address of the campus is
1088 Xueyuan Road, Xili, Nanshan District (in Chinese: 南山区学苑大道1088号南方科技大学)
You can print out this pdf to show the taxi driver. It takes about 40 minutes to reach the campus by taxi and costs ≈ 70 CNY (≈ 9 EUR, ≈ 10 USD).
2.-Subway: take Line 1 (green line) and get off at Bao’an Center. Take Line 5 (violet line) for Huangbeiling and get off at Tanglang. The campus is at walking distance (see campus map below). The ticket costs a few CNY.

From Hong Kong International Airport
From Hong Kong you can come by ferries first and from the harbor to the SUSTech's campus by Taxi. The second option, is by a shared Taxi Van (for 7-8 people) from the Hong Kong Airport (it is a nice trip because you have a nice view of Hong Kong). From the arrival area, follow the signs “Transportation to Mainland China”. You can take a taxi-van from the airport to SUSTech (you will change car at the border, but you do not have to pay anything more and the second car will bring you to SUSTech). The cost is ~200 CNY (~26 EUR, ~30 USD) and it takes 1-2 hours.
To be more specific, at the arrival gate you can ask somebody in airport where to find the Taxi Van transportation Desk for Mainland China. At the Desk you just have to show the exact address in Chinese in Shenzhen. The Taxi Van will cross the border two times (Hong-Kong and China), you will stay in the car and give your passport with the filled immigration paper to the taxi driver. Just after the border, you will move to another taxi in Shenzhen that will bring you to the final destination. If you get confuse just ask the taxi driver of the Taxi Van. Remember to keep with you the address of the Campus in Chinese.

VISA:
Participants with a passport of Japan, Singapore or Brunei do not need a visa if they plan to stay in China for not more than 15 days. In all the other cases, a tourist visa (L-visa) is usually sufficient. You can apply for a tourist visa at the nearest Chinese Embassy/Consulate and usually you need: a passport with at least 6 months of validity and 2 blank pages, a visa application form (if you are applying for a visa in a country different from the country of your nationality, you have to fill out also a supplementary visa application form), a recent passport-size photo with white background, the confirmation of the hotel reservation in China, a copy of the return airplane ticket. Please note that every Chinese Embassy/Consulate has some freedom on this matter, so they may ask you for additional documents.
